Project 7 - INTERLINKED

PENANG BRIDGE

"Yes , our week 7 project is all about bridge."

Briefing from Dr. Nurhidayah & Sr. Dr Md Azree  , we need to be in groups of team  and there are 3 parts in a project  need to do.

1. Project 7A - Analysis of HBP space
2. Project 7B - Skyway / Pedestrian Bridge
3. Project 7C - Skyway Structural Model

After briefing , we went back to our major  in studio 100 ,our studio master ; Dr Radzi divided us into few groups of 3. My team member are Jia Xin , Heng Kei , Shahirah , Azam and international student from somali , Ahmato . 

In this project part A :

We need analyse the ‘HBP SITE’ with all its existing buildings and surrounding

The site analysis should consist of:

‐ Location (Key Plan, Location Plan & Site Plan – not to scale)

‐ Sun Orientation and Prevailing Wind

‐ Vegetation and Views

‐ Circulation (Vehicular & Pedestrian)

• All of these analyses should be drawn graphically on one HBP Site Plan (A3 size). Photos/sketches can be added next to the ‘Analysed Site Plan’ to show the interesting or important parts of the site.
• All of the Key Plan, Location Plan, Analysed Site Plan and Photos/Sketches should be composed in one A2 size catridge paper (on board)

Medium: Pen Ink, Pencil Colour/Watercolour/Marker & Photos)

Preparation :

For my sketching part :

Pencil , Ruler,Marker ,  Pencil Color , Glue , Scissors 

"I am responsible to sketches the building because after discuss with Dr Radzi , he want us to include sketches in he project .For other team member they are doing the key plan and draw logo ."

Although we spend a lot of time with it , but we cooperate very well as a team.Once after class, we will walked to studio 100 and we start our work.At last on the third day , we finished part A.Happy ..!! ^^Thanks to all!!

PROJECT 7A - HBP SITE ANALYSIS

In this Project part B :

Based on our site analysis (best view, circulation, vegetation etc), determine the most suitable HBP buildings to be linked by HBP Skyway (that can protect us from the rain), either:

•  Interlink 1: HBP Main Office (E49) and Resource Centre (E40)

• Interlink 2: Lecture Hall (E48) and Studio Building (E08)

 Then, design an outstanding structure (and façade) of the skyway that can be a ‘landmark’ by itself.

We need to draw the presentation drawings of the skyway in one A2 size catridge papers (on board), which consists of Plan, Front Elevation, Rear Elevation and Side Elevations in 1:75 scale.

In this Project Part C :


Based on the design and dimensions of  our  HBP Skyway (Project 7B), build its STRUCTURAL MODEL in 1:50 scale.

Medium : Model Base: A3 Size Hardboard or Plywood
Structural Model: Cardboard / Perspex / or
Balsa Wood (relatively expensive)

In 2 more days , we had to hand up our model and project part A & B.

Heng keng went to buy the materials for the skyway model . 

• water colour 
• paper card
• glue
• cutter
• scissors
• tissue paper
• board

Me and Heng Keng went to the lab in HBP   to cut the perspective board because is very hard.

Heng Keng using special cutter in the lab to cut the board.

He using his whole body energy to cut it ..... impressive.

After cutting the board , we draw the puzzle and paint in colourful way. This puzzle design is use for the ground .

Work is complete for Project 7C.
